Having being schooled at a Catholic Convent school,I was curious to see this movie..espcially after seeing the Movie teasers...
I must say that this is a brilliant movie, with remarkable performances from Powerhouse actors like Meryl Streep,Philip Seymour Hoffman ,Amy Adams and Viola Davis.
Not only did John Patrick's research on the lives of nuns before filming for this movie,he also tried to subtly touch on the miscegenation during that era
Although the Direction undermines the script.
A few powerful scenes stand out---namely the one where Father Flynn tells Sister Aloysius that "you have no right to act on your own! You are a member of a religious order. You have taken vows, obedience being one! You answer to us!'
I have read mixed reviews on this movie---But after seeing it,I think people are just being fashionably critical--and taking a remarkably well-made movie and tearing it apart
